A MOvember to remember for Regina Firefighters

Regina Professional Firefighters have had the MOst amazing MOvember Campaign.  More than $12,000 was raised which was the fourth highest amount of 88 Canadian Fire Associations!

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in Canada and around the world. With their “Mo’s”, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer.

More Protection for Saskatchewan Fire Fighters

On Wednesday May 11, 2011 the Saskatchewan Legislature passed a bill to extend the presumptive cancer legislation for firefighters.  Esophageal cancer is now included in the list of cancers presumed to be caused by the duties of a firefighter.  This brings the total number of presumptive cancers to ten.  "I'm pleased that we've been able to provide further compensation protection for firefighters who face a number of occupational risks in their everyday work," Labour Relations and Workplace Safety Minister Don Morgan said.
